Rebeca started at the Laboratory of Immunopharmacology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 2011 during her undergraduate years. Since then, she has focused on projects related to arboviruses and the host's immune response. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the same university in 2016, Rebeca pursued a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Immunology. In 2017, with her Master's degree completed, she began a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), stationed at the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio). With a specialization in Immunopharmacology and Microbiology, particularly in Virology, Rebeca then joined the Nijagal Lab as a postdoc, further enriching her scientific journey. At present, she is fortunate to have the support of the Pew Fellowship, enabling her to deeply explore the effects of inflammation within the maternal-fetal interplay and its potential implications for the development of pediatric malignancies.
